Nys Minimum Wage 2024 Salaried Employees. Effective march 13, 2024, the salary threshold for certain exemptions under article 6 of the new york labor law (nyll) will increase from $900 to $1,300. Beginning in 2024, new york state will raise minimum wage to $16 in new york city, long island, and westchester and $15 elsewhere in the state, followed by $0.50 annual increases in 2025 and 2026.
The increased executive and administrative employee salary thresholds come as new yorkโs minimum wage rose on january 1, 2024, to $16 per hour for new york city and the remainder of downstate (nassau, suffolk, and westchester counties) and $15 per hour for the rest of the state. Employers should adjust their minimum exempt salary to $58,458.40 annually ($1,124.20 weekly) to reflect the increase that took effect january 1, 2024 in areas outside of new york city, westchester county, and long island.
